Dr Long Seng To is an expert on sustainable energy, development and resilience. She was a founding Joint Director of the Centre for Sustainable Transitions: Energy, Environment and Resilience (STEER) at Loughborough University  and she served as Chair of the Solar Subgroup of the UN Expert Group on Resource Management.

Her work tackles the challenge of providing access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all (UN Sustainable Development Goal 7) in the context of increasing stresses and shocks, such as climate change, disasters and conflicts. Her research focuses on enhancing community energy resilience using renewable energy in South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and the Pacific.
